Job Description

Podhill Private Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Mining Engineer to join our mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising, and optimizing mining activities to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operations.

The Mining Engineer will work closely with management, mine supervisors, geologists, and other technical personnel to develop and implement effective mining plans while ensuring compliance with applicable mining, safety, environmental, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement short-term and long-term mine plans and production schedules.
* Supervise daily mining operations and ensure production targets are achieved.
* Design and optimize mining methods to improve productivity and reduce operating costs.
* Monitor drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, hauling, and material handling activities.
* Conduct mine surveys and assess geological and operational conditions where required.
* Prepare technical reports, production records, mine plans, and operational schedules.
* Monitor equipment utilization and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
* Ensure mining activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and statutory requirements.
* Identify operational challenges and recommend practical engineering solutions.
* Monitor ore extraction, stockpiles, waste movement, and production performance.
* Work with the processing team to ensure consistent and suitable ore feed to the processing plant.
* Assist in the implementation and improvement of mineral recovery and overall mine efficiency.
* Train and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, supervisors, and local employees.
* Maintain accurate technical and production documentation.
* Promote good environmental practices and responsible mining operations.

Requirements

* Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or a related field.
* Relevant professional qualifications and/or registration will be an added advantage.
* Previous experience in mining operations is required.
* Strong knowledge of mine planning, production, and mining methods.
* Ability to supervise mining teams and work effectively in a challenging operational environment.
* Good technical, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements within mining operations.
