SITE ENGINEER
Mandebvu Contracting is looking for an experienced, driven and hands-on Site Engineer to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of construction projects, leading people, plant and resources to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme, within budget and to the required standard.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage site operations from mobilisation through to completion.
* Plan and coordinate daily works to achieve project milestones and programme.
* Lead site teams, supervisors, operators and subcontractors.
* Coordinate and optimise plant, labour, materials and project resources.
* Manage earthworks and civil construction activities, including lines, levels, grades and quantities.
* Monitor productivity, plant utilisation, quantities, costs and progress.
* Identify and manage delays, variations, additional works and commercial risks.
* Liaise with clients, consultants and project teams while maintaining HSE and quality standards.
* Maintain accurate site, production and progress records.
* Identify problems early and implement practical solutions to keep works on programme.

Qualifications and Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years’ relevant construction experience in a Site Engineer, Site Agent or similar site management role.
* Strong practical experience in earthworks and civil infrastructure construction.
* Proven experience managing heavy earthmoving plant and site teams.
* Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, levels, grades and quantities.
* Practical understanding of surveying and setting out.
* Strong understanding of programming, productivity, resource planning and plant utilisation.
* Commercial awareness, including measurement, variations and cost control.
* Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
* Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work on projects throughout Zimbabwe. Salesjobs Zimbabwe
