Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Pvt) Limited (ZIMPLATS) is the largest producer of platinum group metals in Zimbabwe It owns and operates the Ngezi Underground Mines, the Ngezi Concentrator Plant, and the Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC), delivering long-term value through responsible mining and sound financial stewardship.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above position, which has arisen within the Technical and Projects Management Division based at Mupani Mine. Reporting to the Mupani Project Section Engineer, the successful candidate will coordinate all project construction works (SMPP, EC&I, Civil), interface with mining operations teams and EPCM engineers, plan and expedite all project construction work and arrange required logistics to facilitate works progress.

Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinating the mobilisation of all construction materials required for the project.
Interfacing with mining operations teams and coordinating the timely transportation of construction materials underground.
Supervising works execution by contractor teams and ensuring adherence to all design specifications.
Compiling and reviewing constructability proposals ahead of works execution and proposing mitigation measures to envisaged challenges.
Proactively exploring and recommending project cost optimisation measures before and during project execution.
Reviewing and reporting works progress to the projects team on a daily basis during the daily project progress review meetings.


Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Apprenticeship-trained Skilled Worker Class 1 in Fitting and Turning.
Minimum of a National Diploma (ND) in Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 6 years post apprenticeship experience in a mining/ heavy industrial or major project environment.
A qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage.
A valid class 4 driver's licence
