JOB POSITION: ACCOUNTANT - REPORTING
LOCATION: HARARE
REPORTS TO: CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER HireResume Writers

Duties and Responsibilities
MAIN DUTIES

• Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and quarterly board reports in accordance with IFRS/IAS.
• Execute financial budgeting, variance analysis (actual vs. budget), and cash flow forecasting.
• Manage daily finance operations, working capital, credit control, and investment portfolios.
• Enforce internal controls, departmental procedures, ISO standards, and statutory/regulatory compliance.
• Oversee agency networks, reinsurance treaty returns, and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Manage procurement processes, supplier databases, and vendor payments.
• Supervise, delegate tasks to, and evaluate the Assistant Accountant.
• Conduct bi-weekly broker visits and maintain key relationships with banks, regulators (ZIMRA, NSSA, ZIMDEF), and legal counsel.

Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Accounting or Finance; Articled Clerk background required.
• Professional membership/certification (ACCA, Tax, or Investment certificates). MBA is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior accounting or finance role (Short-Term Insurance background preferred).
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), standard accounting packages, and financial database management.
• Strong written, analytical, and numerical skills with the ability to manage stress and meet deadlines.
