Business Development Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will report directly to the Managing Director and will perform the following duties, among others:

* Develop and execute business acquisition, retention, and expansion strategies in liaison with the Managing Director.
* Conduct market research, analyse trends, and identify competitive advantages to inform strategic planning.
* Identify new markets, regions, and opportunities for business growth in line with set targets.
* Develop, review, and enhance products and marketing strategies to maintain competitiveness.
* Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to guide business decisions.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, brokers, and stakeholders.
* Represent the company at industry events to strengthen networks and gather market feedback.
* Lead contract negotiations (terms, pricing, agreements) in collaboration with underwriting teams.
* Formulate and manage the business development budget.
* Establish KPIs, generate sales pipeline/revenue reports, and provide insights to management.
* Prepare and submit monthly Marketing Reports and quarterly Board Reports.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

* Degree in Insurance, Finance, or a related field; professional insurance qualification.
* 10+ years of experience, including 3 years in management.
* Strong strategic planning, negotiation, financial acumen, leadership, and communication skills.
* Results-driven, innovative, and able to perform under pressure.
