The Assistant Treasurer supports the Treasurer in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and operational management. The role also oversees financial systems, implements operational policies and procedures, and provides leadership for the Church’s business operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate and supervise payments and billing for service providers, contractors and clients.
* Verify payments and bank deposits.
* Manage accounting and financial systems, including account administration and payment requisitions.
* Assist with budgeting and budgetary control.
* Coordinate procurement with departmental heads.
* Administer insurance policies and claims.
* Manage short- and long-term investments.
* Administer salaries, statutory deductions and payroll payments.
* Oversee income-generating projects.
* Manage statutory obligations.
* Establish financial reporting, monitoring and accountability systems.
* Safeguard organisational assets.
* Manage Head Office vehicle fleet, registration books and key register.
* Ensure financial infrastructure supports organisational growth.
* Oversee day-to-day financial operations.
* Manage movable and immovable asset registers.
* Manage title deeds for organisational properties.
* Administer the tender system.
* Provide periodic financial reports to the RCZ Synodical Finance Committee and stakeholders.


Qualifications and Experience
Minimum education and experience required:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or full ACCA, CIMA qualifications.
* Master’s Degree in Accounting, Strategic Management, Business Administration or any other postgraduate degree in a business-related field will be an added advantage.
* 3 to 5 years’ experience at senior managerial level in accounting.
* Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
