POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position will be part of the dynamic Technical & Projects Management team based at Mupani Mine reporting to the Project Manager. The incumbent will provide on-site inspection, quality assurance, and construction supervision across capital and maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and SHEQ requirements, while liaising with contractors and project teams and maintaining accurate site records and reports.

Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect construction work on site and compare workmanship, materials, and methods against approved drawings and specifications
Identify construction defects and non-conformances; recommend corrective actions and monitor rectification to close-out
Monitor construction progress against the approved programme and report status to the Project Manager and architects and clients
Maintain detailed and up-to-date site records and ensure files are updated daily
Liaise with contractors, engineers, and surveyors on site inspection findings, technical queries, and coordination matters
Check and enforce compliance with building regulations, mine safety legislation, health and safety requirements, and Zimplats internal standards
Compile accurate daily site development reports and submit within the agreed timelines
Prepare and submit monthly construction progress reports within the agreed reporting cycle
Prepare, distribute, and maintain the major projects meeting tracker
Prepare and distribute steering committee (steercom) minutes for major projects meetings
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or Construction management degree
Minimum 3 years relevant experience
Good understanding of SHEQ standards and procedures
KEY COMPETENCIES: Engineering& Technology
Good communication, report writing and organisational skills
Must have knowledge of mine management and safety regulation
Ability to read construction drawings
Experienced with engineering supervision within mining/heavy industry or related construction works
Analytical thinking skills
High numerical ability
Knowledge of mine management and safety regulations
Must be thorough, paying attention to detail
A self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills
