REPORTING STRUCTURE Reporting To Managing Director Interacts With Colleagues JOB DESCRIPTION Review and develop SHEQ policies ensuring consistent implementation across the company. Monitor, evaluate, and review existing, new & upcoming relevant legislation and ensure that the company has the systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance. Develop and manage provision of all SHEQ training to ensure employees understand the SHEQ systems in place and their responsibilities in adhering to them. Work proactively with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a program of continuous improvement in the area of SHEQ. Ensure that rigorous risk assessment and accident management systems are in place to identify hazards and ensure that appropriate control measures are in place. Discuss areas for improvement with relevant staff / external bodies and agree appropriate corrective action. Ensure that data with regards to SHEQ performance is effectively captured and analysed to enable improvement plans to be developed. Providing support and guidance on technical, legal, and other issues as required. Assisting the business with the implementation of the ISO 9001 standards. Dealing with the NSSA and EMA, insurers and other bodies as required. Ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely investigation and reporting of incidents/accidents, actions and follow-up including trend analysis and root cause determination. Work to reduce environmental impact of the business and improve sustainability. Africare is an International non-governmental organization working in Zimbabwe to reduce poverty among vulnerable communities through interventions in Agriculture & Food Security, Enterprise Development; Health, HIV & AIDS, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene and Women’s Empowerment. Africare is working with UNICEF, the Government of Zimbabwe and the Rural District Councils of Zvimba and Hurungwe in implementing the WASH in Schools (WinS) project aimed at improving the learning environment in school. This is being done by ensuring that school girls have access to affordable sanitary ware and education on menstrual hygiene management that will lessen absenteeism, reduce stigmatization and reduce the number of school girls who drop out of school because of menstrual challenges. Africare, therefore, is seeking the services of a consultant to build the capacity of school health clubs in the production of re-usable menstrual pads (RUMPs) and mentoring of school health clubs to start income generating projects. Duties And Responsibilities Specific activities of the assignment include: Training two groups of school health masters in the production of re-usable menstrual pads (RUMPs) and pants; Promoting mentorship of the groups in RUMP making in schools as a business; and Incorporate training of school health masters and school girls in reproductive health and menstrual hygiene management. Mission of the position Support the Member Association’s Fund Development team in raising resources from philanthropists, corporate entities and government subsidies in order to increase and diversify income.
