1. TOWN ENGINEER (GRADE 12)

Reporting To: Town Secretary

Duties and Responsibilities

* Head of Engineering Department.
* The design, construction and maintenance of roads, water, buildings and public lighting infrastructure.
* Management and maintenance of plant and equipment.
* Preparation of Department budgets.
* To ensure that Department staff are properly supervised through section heads.
* Preparing weekly, monthly, annual and ad hoc reports for the Town Secretary and the Works and Services Committee.
* To perform any other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Town Secretary.

Person Specification

* Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognised university.
* Membership of a professional body such as the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe or the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers.
* At least three years’ post-qualification experience.
* Citizen of Zimbabwe.
* No criminal record.
* A clean and traceable record of employment.
