Applications are invited for the position of Buyer which has arisen within our Group of companies in the FMCG manufacturing and farming sector. The buyer will be reporting to the Head of Finance.

The buyer’s key duties are:

• Sourcing quotations for stationery, purchase of raw material, packaging material and engineering spares from the most competitive suppliers.
• Negotiating best prices for raw packaging materials, spares and other consumables as well as ensuring purchases are done at competitive prices.
• Planning orders, replenishing of stocks and collection of all ordered stocks
• Ensure timeous delivery of stocks.
• Effective management and supervision of stores staff
• Ensure correct re-order levels to avoid stock outs
• Advising management on critical stocks/spares to be purchased and calculation and monitoring of lead times
• Preparation of stock reports for decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate should possess: -

• Purchasing and Supply Higher Diploma
• An accounting degree would be an added advantage.
