Construction Equipment Sales Representative

Job Purpose
The Construction Equipment Sales Representative will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to clients and generating leads in the construction industry sector for the commercial Department.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
• Develop assigned territory, implement sales plans to grow business, and maintain current customer base.
• Responsible for retention of existing customer base with continued sales growth.
• Source and grow sales with new business opportunities within assigned market area/territory.
• Be abreast of the construction equipment market and competition to provide comprehensive market intelligence to Management to support decision-making.
• Provide input into the planning of sales targets for construction and agricultural equipment brands, growth and profitability targets, and targets for customer interaction.
• Responsible for the sales and marketing of rental and purchase of equipment
• Sources new business opportunities; develops new accounts and maintaining accounts from previous year.
• Achieve targets set for construction and agricultural heavy equipment sales and maximize efforts to achieve through frequent customer interaction and maintaining professional relationships.
• Interact with all decision makers and influencers and offer and proposal is in line with customer needs and expectations, which must be clearly clarified.
• Take the lead in the preparation and presentation sales contracts/lease agreements.
• Prepare sales plans, sales reports, expense, and daily call reports.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction through frequent customer contact throughout the lifecycle of the equipment sold.
• Formulate bids on new and existing jobs and projects.
• Review and provide input on target client opportunities while ensuring alignment with overall account strategy.
• Take the lead in generating leads and nurture client relationships.
• Contribute to overall company drive for success and growth through sharing of sales wins and insights, marketing opportunities, and customer feedback.
• Build collaborative partnerships by delivering more value than the competition; superior customer service, responsiveness, promotional support, and true understanding of each channel’s business-building opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma or Degree in Sales and Marketing, Engineering, or any Business studies
• Must have a minimum of at least 5+ years working experience in the Sales and Marketing of Heavy Construction
• Must have a strong working knowledge of heavy equipment and maintenance so that you can provide practical customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to lead Sales and drive revenue growth.
• Proven sales ability; strong cold calling, qualifying, prospecting, and presentation skills.
• Must have a Well-developed customer base (i.e Mines, Transport Companies and Government Ministries)
• Must easily excel in a fast-paced work environment.
