Job Description
Simukai Child Protection Programme (PVO27/12) ()is a multi-service Organization that provides a range of child and youth-based programs for the community. It was established to serve children and youths in a holistic and inclusive manner based on the Eco-systemic child rights approach. The Organization also empowers children, young people and communities to address various child-safeguarding issues, enhance their sustainable livelihoods, take anticipatory actions to natural and man-made hazards as well as sustainable environmental management. This is executed through advocacy, partnerships, inclusive and innovative service delivery. Below are Strategic Focus Areas for the 2024-2026 Strategic period:

2.0 Objectives
Simukai is committed to strengthening its capacity to ensure that effective implementation of programs and delivery of impactful results. The primary objective of this consultancy is to assist Simukai to develop and implement a structured capacity building program that will enhance organizational development, facilitate targeted capacity building, and foster sustainability of program implementation. The key objectives include:

i. To assess the current capacity of Simukai Child Protection Programme.
ii. To provide targeted capacity-building interventions based on the assessment findings.
iii. To enhance the organizational effectiveness, governance and leadership, financial management, documentation and programmatic impact through training and mentorship.
iv. To conduct quarterly review meetings to track progress, share best practices, and promote accountability.

3.0 Scope of Work
The consultancy firm is expected to:
• Conduct an initial assessment of the organization's current capacity in the areas of governance and leadership, programme implementation and documentation.
• Conduct customized training workshops on governance and leadership, program design and implementation, research and documentation.
• Provide mentorship and coaching on leadership, strategy, and operational efficiency.
• Review progress against capacity-building plans and share success stories, challenges, and lessons learned. Where necessary, adjust capacity-building strategies based on emerging needs and contexts.
• Conduct final evaluation to measure the impact of the capacity-building interventions on Simukai’s organizational performance.

Duties and Responsibilities
4.0 Deliverables
The consultancy firm is required to deliver the following:
• An assessment report outlining the current state of policies and SOPs.
• Draft policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Governance and Leadership, Program design and implementation and Documentation.
• Training materials and sessions for staff members on the identified capacity gaps.
• Progress Reports and final Evaluation Report on the Simukai Capacity Development Program.

The expected timeline for this consultancy is 6 months, starting from the date of signing of the contract.

6.0 Qualifications
The consultancy firm should possess the following qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in assessing the capacity of non-profit organizations.
• Expertise in the areas of Governance and Leadership, Finance, Programs and Documentation.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
