The Organisation of Rural Associations for Progress (ORAP), a leading local non-governmental organisation, presents an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and motivated candidates to fill the following vacancies under a USAID funded Amalima Project which is part of a CNFA-led consortium. The project seeks to sustainably improve household food security and nutrition, using the following three Strategic Objectives: SO 1: Household access to, and availability of, food improved; SO 2: Community resilience to shocks improved; SO 3: Nutrition and health among pregnant and lactating females, boys and girls under 2 years old improved.

Purpose of the Job
The incumbent is expected to oversee the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all Village Savings and Lending, Value Chain Development, Food For Assets, Food Distributions, and Agricultural related activities within the wards of operation, ensuring that there is adherence to organisation and donor guidelines in the district.

Duties include
Identifying project participants at community level, on project inception; Training community groups; Coordinating project activities at ward level with community members,leaders, partner organisation and relevant government agencies; Assisting in data collection and monitoring of activities at field level; Participating in surveys conducted at district level; Distributing food and non-food commodities to beneficiaries; Managing and accounting for commodities; Working with the District Field Coordinator on stakeholder coordination; Preparing daily summaries of activities and reporting any irregularities of the project activities; Writing clear and concise reports.

Qualifications and experience
Diploma/ Degree in Agriculture, Nutrition, Water Management, or Environmental Sciences; Minimum of 2 years in Community Development and Social work; Demonstrated ability to work with rural communities in a multicultural environment, with project stakeholders including local government officials, donor/partner staff, other NGO peers, and community members; Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to write good reports, clearly, and meet deadlines; Advanced computer literacy in the MS Office packages, Internet and email; Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of local language in the relevant district is essential; Must have appreciation of ORAP values and be prepared to work with ORAP grassroots structures; Clean Class 3 drivers’ License/provisional and ability to ride a motorbike a prerequisite.
